Ancestral Connection Ritual Blend ~ Bath, Floor, Altar
Nature has provided gifts that have been an important thread between my native ancestors and their spirituality. The Four Sacred Medicines; Tobacco (absolute) Cedar (Organic from my own garden) White Sage (as well as two other types of sage) and Sweetgrass have historical as well as continuing cultural value to the spirit, physical and emotional well-being of native peoples. Upon an altar it is common to leave gifts of food such as chocolate and a cup of coffee or even a plate of food. In honour of this I have added raw cacao and a little ground coffee and spices including vanilla.
The aroma is comforting, sweet, woody with spicy undertones and a slight hint of coffee. Depending on your sense of smell you may pick up on the vanilla scent of the Sweetgrass. I have ground the cedar and a few other plants so there are no sharp leaves and the plants release their healing properties and fragrance more easily when hot water is applied for your bath, floor wash or altar offering. For protection I have found this wonderful as a door wash. If you wish to add Florida Water, white flowers or dress a white candle with this blend you may do so. A little goes a long way. Set your intuitions or make your prayer over the water before use. I have blessed and Crystal Charged this blend.
The plants used are believed to offer spiritual healing and strengthen the bond between us and our ancestors. Some believe our ancestors and their memories and gifts/abilities are within our DNA and that by honouring them and building a connection we can unlock such knowledge and abilities.
