Cascarilla Chalk Efun - A Practical version Of Traditional Egg Shell Cups

£8.88
Sold Out

Hand crafted, Blessed Cascarilla Chalk - so versatile and open for anyone to use for the purpose of protection, purification, cleansing, infusing intentions and acting as a barrier/ energetic boundary. Great to use on an altar for ancestors.

In this form, one’s spiritual practice remains discreet. The chalk can be tucked away discreetly. I originally created this for when my daughter was a newborn and we travelled a lot. While staying in hotels where I couldn’t burn a smudge stick or incense I needed a discreet safe way to purify the rooms, have a ritual bath and protect my family in the foreign space we were in. I couldn’t risk a glass bottle cracking in the nappy bag and loose powder going everywhere which is also the reason why I sell my black/blue salts in reusable plastic tubes (another great travel item). Its so easy to wipe off when you leave. There’s no strong smell although I must say I do enjoy the mild fresh scent the Florida water imparts into the chalk. Since then I’ve had friends and family request it and can’t imagine being without it.

The egg shells have been cleaned and hand ground by myself my mortar and pestle for a loooong time (my poor arm lol). I observed that in some cultures a little Cascarilla might be ingested so instead of blending with cornstarch (which bacteria feeds on so not great for private areas when we bathe with it or in folds of skin when we sweat) or more commonly used flour (which can cause tummy upset when ingested uncooked or if one has a sensitivity to gluten) I choose to use an organic food grade clay which is great for the skin, hair and safe for consumption just incase. Some believe clay acts like crystals when it comes to healing energy. So its a win win! As a mother with a little one it gives me peace of mind that its safe for babies and even pets especially if it will be used all around the home. The clay and egg powder is then blended with Florida water and holy water, hand moulded then left to air dry before being Crystal Charged and blessed. The holy water is from Jordan and the Florida water is my large go to bottle that has been prayed over and charged with numerous full and new moons.

Cascarilla cups can be hard to find in the UK and are expensive when imported. On average each traditional cup of egg powder weighs 13g. Each piece of this chalk is roughly 36g in weight, 15mm wide and approximately 85mm in length. They are handmade and shaped so although I use the same amount each time the exact measurements may differ slightly. It will last a long time I only make it a couple times a year for myself. I have shown it next to my daughters regular store bought chalk so you can see how chunky it is.

Break off a section, use whole as a tool or crumble some to:

•Add to a Floor wash

•Add to a Ritual bath

•Place on your altar as an offering

•Mark the forehead during Meditations

•Rub on hands and head after readings or healings

•Rub on the back of the neck

•Some make a cross with the powdered chalk on the chest during prayer, I mark a cross on the wall above my altar it’s invisible on light surfaces

•Add a little to the laundry to rid clothes of low vibrations and prevent more from attaching when worn

•Place a little on the forehead at night to keep nightmares at bay

•Use in all your protection works

•Draw/ write on candles/ parchment (you can carve into a candle and rub the chalk over it)

•Draw sigils. Its hard to see on light surfaces but it will be there. A textured surface works best or grind it into powder and use that. You can see from the photographs how fine of a dust it crumbles down to

•Mark or sprinkle around doors frames and windows on the inside (black salt is best for outside) Don’t forget air vents and fireplaces! The first day I first marked our bedroom doors from the outside we all slept great especially my teenager

•Mark/ sprinkle on/around children’s bed especially if they have bad dreams (best under the flat sheet or under the bed so no inhalation occurs)

•Use at work at your desk or on your body (like baby powder, the clay is great for this as it’s actually practical in absorbing moisture/odour to a degree) for protection. People won’t know its a sacred powder.

Tip: I rub a little on the soles of my feet and my children’s feet when we go out or you can rub a little inside of shoes to prevent negative energy/entities sticking to us and coming into our home as the soles much like chakras are energy entry points.
