Womb Health Herbal Tea Blend

from £3.58

This blend is very effective. You may only need to drink daily (1-3 times a day) 7-10 days before your period begins or use daily for 30 days to cleanse and support womb health then a few times a week for maintenance. Without sweetening this blend is smooth, with a hint of vanilla from the Pau D’ Arco.

•Organic Nettle (Urtica Dioica)

•Organic Walnut Leaf (Juglans)

•Pau D’ Arco Bark (Tabebuia Impetiginosa)

•Raspberry Leaf (Rubus Idaeus)

•Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa)

•Red Clover (Trifolium Pratense)

Feel free to add ground cinnamon to boost the benefits of this tea. As it’s a bark if I added cinnamon chips/sticks to this tea it would require boiling on the stove however ground cinnamon will release its healing properties with steeping.

*Be careful if you do not want to increase chances of getting pregnant as some of these ingredients will affect birth control effectiveness!

*If you are using this tea to help heal fibroids according to book ‘Prescription for Herbal Healing’ by Phyllis A. Balch you should avoid the plants liquorice, fennel and peony in your diet.

*Expect an increase in moisture/discharge as your body cleanses itself and expels toxins.

Nettle is a great source of vitamins including iron, magnesium and calcium all of which are important for healthy menstruation. It also helps flush out toxins involved in UTIs. Walnut leaves have bacteria-killing, anti-parasitic properties and are often used in detox routines. It contains a compound juglone which fights against abnormal growths.

Pau d’arco has to be the star of the show (no wonder its the most expensive ingredient!) “The range of viruses stunted by pau d’arco tea extends from those that cause the common cold to those that are responsible for the life-threatening AIDS virus. It has been shown in both in vitro and in vivo studies to actively inhibit, kill or stunt the growth of several dangerous viruses, including:herpes, polio, vesicular stomatitis, avian myeloblastosis, leukemia, rous sarcoma virus. The beta-lapochone present in the bark actually inhibits the enzymes in virus cells. This directly affects the synthesis of DNA and RNA. The virus is then no longer able to take control over the reproductive processes of the cell, so it can neither replicate itself nor infect other cells.” (Draxe.com) It inhibits bacteria and fungi need to produce oxygen and energy, it helps the body fight candida and has shown in tests to inhibit and treat MRSA and mould in the body. Great for reducing inflammation, in a study the bark extract blocked the production of compounds prevalent in many chronic inflammatory diseases.

Raspberry leaf reduces PMS, cramping, regulates periods and supports fertility. It helps ease the transition through menopause and has been shown in many studies to support women’s reproductive life. Known to help extend the luteal phase thus increasing the chances of pregnancy (particularly important for those with luteal phase defects that prevent implantation) and to help tone the uterine lining to support a pregnancy.

Wild Yam has traditionally been used to rebalance see-sawing hormones that can trigger symptoms such as PMS and helps the uterus to work more efficiently during menses. This uterine support allows for proper function of the uterus while working to prevent uterine cramping or spasm. This herb has a wonderful action on the ovaries, toning them and aiding in ovarian cyst pain. Wild Yam is often used to treat urinary tract infection pain as well.

Red Clover has many health benefits but in terms of the womb herbalists frequently cite its fertility-boosting qualities as most important. Believed to improve circulatory function, and the increased blood flow to the ovaries and uterus can be extremely helpful in producing better eggs, and better-preparing the uterus for implantation. The circulatory benefits may also help one produce higher-quality cervical fluid to facilitate sperm’s journey to the egg.
